The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has updated the Victorian Integrated Survey of Travel and Activity (VISTA) data for financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24.

VISTA is a major data collection exercise conducted by DTP to understand all aspects of day-to-day travel by Victorians. It is a rich dataset that investigates how, why, where and when people travel, as well as the activities they undertake in their daily lives. VISTA informs policy, project and planning decisions made across the Victorian transport portfolio.

Most of the attributes in historical VISTA data are available. Improvements include:

  • Attributes to understand work-from-home patterns
  • An updated collection methodology using GPS technology to enhance accuracy
  • Enhanced weighting methodology to improve estimates

For more information, visit the VISTA webpage.

DTP is committed to continuously improving existing datasets and releasing new information to support the Victorian Government's Open Data policy and objectives.
