Privacy and the DataVic Access Policy
Not all Victorian government data can be released under the DataVic Access Policy . Access to some data must be restricted for reasons of:
- privacy
- public safety
- security and law enforcement
- public health
- compliance with the law.
The DataVic Access Policy requires agencies to share de-identified datasets when possible. If a dataset includes personal information (as defined in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 ) and cannot be de-identified, it cannot be released under the policy.
