The Department of Transport and Planning has updated the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) Schedule to improve bus and regional trip information so passengers can better plan their journeys and travel on the network.
The GTFS Schedule dataset was updated on 19 September 2025 to:
- Move myki regional bus data from Folder #6 to Folder #4. This means that all myki bus data from both metro and regional routes will be in the same location and can be matched to the real-time GTFS-R data.
- All remaining (non-myki) regional bus data will stay in Folder #6 and continue to be available as is.
- Point the agency URL and agency fare URL in agency.txt to the recently updated Transport Victoria website so passengers have the right links to the information they need.
These changes enable real-time information via GTFS-R data for myki regional bus data for the first time. This will give passengers in Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Bacchus Marsh, Seymour, Kilmore, Wallan, Warragul and the Latrobe Valley the details they need to more effectively plan bus journeys on third-party journey planners.
