MetaShare; the Victorian Government's spatial metadata platform, is being upgraded. The platform will be unavailable between 5pm to 7pm on Thursday 11 June.
What is MetaShare?
MetaShare is the metadata catalogue for Victorian Government spatial data. It provides detailed, downloadable metadata reports for datasets listed on DataShare and DataVic.
For example, Vicmap Property - Easement Line is discoverable on DataVic and orderable on DataShare. The detailed metadata report is available on MetaShare.
What is changing?
MetaShare is being enhanced based on user feedback.
The following fields will be added to metadata reports:
- Custodian
- Owner
- Metadata ID
- Spatial Representation Type
- Contact
- Horizontal Accuracy Resolution
ANZLIC ID field will be removed as it is no longer used.
How will this impact you?
MetaShare will be offline between 5pm to 7pm on Thursday 11 June.
This also impacts the following applications:
- DataShare - you will be unable to order resources during this time and metadata links will be unavailable
- MapShare - metadata links will be unavailable
