DataVic went live this week with the first in a series of planned local government integrations to help citizens discover and access even more valuable open data.

Metadata from the City of Ballarat Data Exchange is now harvested daily, with 3 more council integrations scheduled over the coming months.

This local open data includes near real-time data from sensors distributed throughout Ballarat, such as People Counts and Solar Radiation Observations, and more traditional open data such as Waste collection Days and the Exceptional Tree Register.

The plaques on the Avenue of Honour has historically been one of the more popular open datasets. The Arch of Victory at the end of the Avenue of Honour pictured is one of the most recognisable landmarks.

Check out the City of Ballarat datasets on the DataVic website.
