DataShare is a platform to order and download spatial data owned and managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

DataShare replaces the Spatial DataMart with a far superior user experience, including enhanced search and discovery.

New features include:

•    improved search results
•    map-based searching
•    improved user experience, including mobile
•    file geodatabase format
•    upload shapefiles to use as cookie cutters
•    integration with DELWP Spatial IDAM service (login and authentication).

Customers can access an extensive range of data on DataShare including:

•    Vector (Points, lines and polygons)
•    Aspatial tables.

In Data Vic the total number of data records has risen, mostly due to the splitting out of resource types WMS and vector downloads from DELWP. Another update to note is that titles and URLs may have changed for some of these datasets.

During this transition period, DataShare will be working side-by-side with the Spatial DataMart.

The Spatial DataMart will be decommissioned by the end of 2021.
