Data accessibility

The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) has made available some of the vast amount of spatial data about Victoria.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment has vast amounts of spatial information about Victoria's natural and man-made features. Waterways, railway lines, and postcode boundaries are just some of the data we've supplied to App My State.
We're involved in this competition for two reasons. Firstly, we're excited about new applications that could be developed by making our data available to people who normally wouldn't use it. But, just as importantly, we're hoping you will help us learn more about your data accessibility needs by joining the developers forum.
For App My State we've supplied much of our spatial information in KML format - we chose KML to make our data accessible to the broadest possible group.
However, we do know that some web developers would prefer different formats - we'd like to hear from you.
Maybe you have a problem. Maybe you have a solution. Whatever your position, if you've got ideas about how we can make our data more useful, please join the discussion in the data.vic.gov.au developers form.
